RCE allow to do the work as opposed to allowing to win the work.

This philosophy is not compatible with the flawed procurement process of fee bidding, but it does ensure that each engagement is satisfactorily completed for each Client.

As a result of our philosophy, RCE are increasingly awarded projects by Clients who have become disillusioned with the considerable downside of fee bidding. Unfortunately this currently excludes some clients and government departments still wedded to fee bidding or weighted assessments that lack credibility from access to RCE’s services.

Having agreed on a fee and a scope of service, RCE will not stop work or reduce the level of their service until the engagement is satisfactorily completed.

RCE identify strongly with the Architect Frank Gehry’s reply to a journalist’s question.

“How do you answer those who accuse you of practising showy architecture?”

Gehry:

“Let me tell you one thing. In this world we are living in, 98 percent of everything that is built and designed today is pure s***. There’s no sense of design, no respect for humanity or for anything else. They are damn buildings and that’s it.

Once in a while, however, there’s a small group of people who does something special. Very few. But good God, leave us alone! We are dedicated to our work.

I don’t ask for work. I don’t have a publicist. I’m not waiting for anyone to call me. I work with clients who respect the art of architecture. Therefore, please don’t ask questions as stupid as that one“.
